The fastest animal in the world is the cheetah, a member of the cat family (Felidae) that lives in the African savanna. It can reach 70mph in less than 10 seconds while chasing its prey. Unlike most big cats that use brute force and stalking abilities to catch their prey, the cheetah will overwhelm its prey by the sheer speed of its attack.
