Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei at a press briefing?Monday

China Monday rebutted a U.S. accusation of hacking into an American satellite system, calling the report "factitious."

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hong Lei made the comments when answering a question about a recent report on the suspicions by the United States-China Economic and Security Review Commission.

"The commission always observes China through tainted glasses. The report is totally factitious, made with ulterior motives, and does not warrant refuting," he said.

He said China has been a victim of hacker attacks as well and the country opposes any kind of cyber crime.
