Thirty-one press officials from 12 African countries visited the Dujiangyan Base (Panda Park) of China Research and Conversation Center for the Giant Panda and the Dujaingyan Scenic Area on July 18.

When inspecting the Dujiangyan scenic area, they were amazed to know that the road they had just walked down had been in existence for more than 2,200 years and the Dujiangyan irritation system, equally old as the road, is still in use.

“The Dujiangyan Water Conservancy Project was quite imposing and extraordinary,” said one press official from Mali.

The official also expressed approval of Dujiangyan City’s philosophy and approach for developing tourism, hoping African countries can learn from the city to develop tourism on the strength of their resources.
