The 2016 China (Sichuan) International Cultural Tourism Festival is slated to open on July 23 in Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province.

A series of activities will be held during the six-day grand event, which is themed "Wild Sichuan, Colorful Liangshan, Holiday Paradise."

These activities include a tourism products trade fair, cultural performances, exploration of Liangshan's tourism routes, experiencing the Yi ethnic group's Torch Festival and a?forum?on the development of a special interest tourism project?in Shangri-La ecotourism core areas?of Muli Tibetan Autonomous County.

Liangshan, a stop on the ancient Southern Silk Road, is well-known for its unique ethnic cultures and beautiful landscape.

The festival, jointly hosted by Liangshan People's Government, the Information Office of Sichuan Provincial People's Government and Sichuan Provincial Tourism Development Committee, will run until July 28.
