The reporter learned from the Health and Family Planning Commission of Ningxia Hui autonomous region that measures have been taken in recent years to adapt the medical insurance policies favoring traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and Hui medicine.
An annual special fund for TCM and Hui medicine is established and financial departments at all levels have raised the subsidy standard for public Chinese medicine hospitals of second class and above, said Wang Fengtian, director of the regional administration for TCM and Hui medicine. Besides, Ningxia has carried out the experience-learning program to invite old and famous TCM experts to improve the young generation’s skills.
