Tencent Weibo

Tencent Weibo is a microblogging website launched by Tencent in April 2010 and remains in its beta testing stage. Users may broadcast a message consisting of a maximum of 140 Chinese characters through the web, SMS or a smartphone. As of March 2011, it had more than 100 million registered users, with 20.2 million active users. But according to iResearch, Sina Weibo controls 87 percent of users' time spent microblogging, while Tencent holds only 9 percent.
