7, Zhang Yining

Zhang has been absent from table tennis tournaments since her marriage in October 2009. She announced her retirement from international table tennis in 2011 and then went to the United States to study at the University of Wisconsin–Madison.

Zhang is one of the few players to retire whilst holding both the World and Olympic titles for the singles and team event in table tennis.
