The visiting Liverpool defeated Rabotnici Skopje 2-0 in the first-leg of the Europa League third qualifying round match on Thursday.

The visitors took the lead when the French striker David Ngog opened the scoring at the 17th minute. He added the second goal before the hour.

Many of Liverpool's star players, including captain Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres, didn't appear in the line-up. Still, the visitors won the match with little alarm.

Liverpool will play host next Thursday.
