The Zhongguancun Zone, which stretches from Baishiqiao Lu to Haidian Lu, is a beehive of vast malls, hi-tech businesses and higher-learning establishments packed into one area. Often dubbed “China's Silicon Valley”, the area is a hub of all things electronic, from televisions to computers. Bargaining is a big part of buying, and because the range of choices is enormous, it's best to know roughly what you want before arriving. Shops are open daily from 09:00 to 21:00.
