Adjust font size:

The government of the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR) is weighing to improve the educational measures for young offenders, local media reported Tuesday.

The Macao Post Daily quoted Tong Chi Kin, spokesman for the Executive Council, as saying that the government has drafted a bill aiming at educating teenager delinquents "to help them rejoin the community."

The bill covers eight educational measures including police warning, judicial admonition, reconciliation with victim of the crime, implementation of rules of conduct, community service, assisted education, temporary house arrest and confinement.

The bill will soon be reviewed by the Executive Council, top advisory arm of the chief executive of the MSAR, and will be proposed to the Legislative Assembly for approval.
