A forest fire that broke out on Tuesday in Northeast China's Liaoning province has been extinguished with no reports of injury or death.

More than 700 people, firefighters and local residents, battled the blaze near Qipan Mountain in Shenyang, the provincial capital's forest fire control headquarters reported.

Police have detained a person, suspected of starting the fire by burning corn stalks.
