The 2007 national kite-flying festival will be held in Yinchuan, capital city of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region in northwest China on Saturday.
The two-day kite-flying festival, aiming to promote sports activities among people as well as the development of kite culture in western China, has attracted 26 teams all over the country to take part in the competition and demonstration.
During the festival there will be a kite-flying competition and a kite-flying performance. Meanwhile, citizens can also bring their own kites to compete with those participants.
With a history of 2,300 years, Chinese kite art has developed into a popular sport event, contested in terms of kite's shape, color and flying techniques.
