China, Australia Hold Dialogue on Human Rights
Adjust font size:

Chinese and Australian officials have applauded the two country's decade-old dialogue on human rights, saying it has contributed to the understanding between the two peoples.

The annual dialogue, which has featured a series of technical cooperation projects, has helped improve the human rights conditions in both countries for the past ten years, said the two delegations' chiefs at a joint press conference.

The 10th dialogue was held in Canberra yesterday, co-chaired by Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade Deputy Secretary David Ritchie and China's Assistant Foreign Minister Cui Tiankai.

The latest round of dialogue discussed issues relating to labor rights, women and children's rights, legislation reforms and international cooperation, said Ritchie.
