Building a Safe, Academic, Digital, and Dynamic Museum

In 2019, the Palace Museum introduced the idea of building a "safe, academic, digital, and dynamic museum". A "safe museum" is the foundation, an "academic museum" is the core, a "digital museum" is the guarantee, and a "dynamic museum" is the ultimate pursuit. Currently, the Palace Museum is working to turn the idea into reality in an orderly and coordinated manner, which represents the specific path to realize its mission and vision.

Building a "safe museum" refers to ensuring the security of the cultural heritage site, collection, and visitors in the museum through administrative and technological means.

Building an "academic museum" refers to fostering academic exchange platforms, academic research teams and academic results publishing channels to attract both Chinese and foreign experts to jointly lift the museum's academic research to a higher level.

Building a "digital museum" refers to achieving permanent preservation and sustained inheritance of relic resources through usage of digital technology and management of digital resources.

Building a "dynamic museum" refers to putting a modern face and fresh perspectives on fine traditional Chinese culture by creatively exploring the cultural value of relics and transforming them into public cultural and educational resources through exhibitions, cultural and creative products, and new media content.

“四個故宮”理念

故宮博物院于2019年正式提出“四個故宮”的概念，意即“平安故宮”“學(xué)術(shù)故宮”“數(shù)字故宮”“活力故宮”?！捌桨补蕦m”是基礎(chǔ)，“學(xué)術(shù)故宮”是核心，“數(shù)字故宮”是保障，“活力故宮”是追求，“四個故宮”的有序推進(jìn)及協(xié)同發(fā)展，是故宮博物院實現(xiàn)使命與愿景的具體路徑。

“平安故宮”指通過行政管理和科技手段，保障遺產(chǎn)地、文物藏品和觀眾群體的安全?！皩W(xué)術(shù)故宮”指通過學(xué)術(shù)交流平臺、學(xué)術(shù)團(tuán)隊建設(shè)和學(xué)術(shù)成果發(fā)表陣地，吸引國內(nèi)外專家學(xué)者協(xié)同推動故宮博物院學(xué)術(shù)研究向高水平邁進(jìn)。“數(shù)字故宮”指通過對數(shù)字技術(shù)的利用和數(shù)字資源的管理，實現(xiàn)遺產(chǎn)和文物資源的永久保存和永續(xù)傳承?！盎盍蕦m”指通過挖掘文物蘊(yùn)含的文化價值，創(chuàng)造性地轉(zhuǎn)化為展覽展示活動、文化創(chuàng)意產(chǎn)品、新媒體傳播內(nèi)容等公眾文化教育資源，賦予中華優(yōu)秀傳統(tǒng)文化現(xiàn)代表現(xiàn)形式和新的時代內(nèi)涵。
