Huangguoshu Waterfall

The Huangguoshu Waterfall was first recorded in the Travel Notes of Xu Xiake. Xu Xiake was a great geographer and traveler of the Ming Dynasty. He traveled from Guangxi to Guizhou and arrived at Huangguoshu. His travel notes include a fascinating account of the Huangguoshu Waterfall. "The splashing droplets are just like crushed pearls and broken jade, producing a haze of mist in the air, which is rather overwhelming."

The waterfall area was developed in 1979 and became officially open to the public in 1980. It was listed by the State Council as one of the first national parks in 1982. The Huangguoshu Waterfall is 77.8 meters high and 101 meters wide. It is the only waterfall in the world that can be viewed from above, below, front, back, left and right. It is also the only waterfall in the world that has a cave (134 meters long) at half its height so it can be viewed and even touched inside the cave. In a word, the waterfall is a wonder that can be appreciated from all angles.

黃果樹(shù)瀑布群黃果樹(shù)瀑布最早記載于《徐霞客游記》。徐霞客是明代偉大的地理學(xué)家、旅行家,從廣西進(jìn)入貴州到達(dá)黃果樹(shù),他在游記中對(duì)黃果樹(shù)瀑布作了精彩介紹:“搗珠崩玉,飛沫反涌,如煙霧騰空,勢(shì)甚雄偉?！?/p>

黃果樹(shù)瀑布群于1979年開(kāi)發(fā),1980年正式對(duì)外開(kāi)放,1982年被國(guó)務(wù)院批準(zhǔn)為首批國(guó)家級(jí)重點(diǎn)風(fēng)景名勝區(qū)。黃果樹(shù)瀑布高77.8米,寬101米。它是世界上唯一能從上、下、前、后、左、右觀看和欣賞的瀑布,也是世界上唯一有水簾洞從其半腰貫通(全長(zhǎng)134米),能從洞內(nèi)向外聽(tīng)、觀、摸的瀑布。我們可以以瀑布為中心,從上、下、前、后、左、右六個(gè)不同的方位來(lái)觀賞黃果樹(shù)瀑布。
