Developing a New Model of Major-Country Relations Between China and the United States

Meeting with President Barack Obama of the United States at the Annenberg Retreat in California in June 2013, President Xi Jinping proposed a new model of major-country relations. This new model, in his words, encapsulates three principles: 

– no conflict or confrontation, which is a prerequisite; 

– mutual respect, which provides the basis for healthy major-country relations; and 

– mutually beneficial cooperation, which provides the means to turn this vision into a reality.

構(gòu)建中美新型大國關(guān)系

2013年6月，中國國家主席習(xí)近平與美國總統(tǒng)奧巴馬在安納伯格莊園會(huì)晤，提出共同努力構(gòu)建中美新型大國關(guān)系。關(guān)于中美新型大國關(guān)系的內(nèi)涵，習(xí)近平在會(huì)晤中用三句話作了概括：一是不沖突、不對(duì)抗。二是相互尊重。三是合作共贏。不沖突對(duì)抗，是構(gòu)建中美新型大國關(guān)系的必要前提。相互尊重，是構(gòu)建中美新型大國關(guān)系的基本原則。合作共贏，是中美構(gòu)建新型大國關(guān)系的必由之路。
