The Xi-Ma Meeting

On November 7, 2015, Xi Jinping and Ma Ying-jeou, leaders from both sides of the Taiwan Straits, met in Singapore to exchange views on furthering the peaceful development of cross-Straits relations. This was a historic meeting, the first since 1949, of the leaders from both sides of the Taiwan Straits. Both sides acknowledged the progress that has been made in cross-Straits relations and peaceful development since 2008. They reaffirmed their commitment to the "1992 Consensus" and a number of other key commitments: to consolidating common political ground, maintaining peace and stability in the development of cross-Straits relations, increasing communication and dialogue, and expanding exchanges and cooperation to the benefit of people in both Chinese mainland and Taiwan. This meeting opened a new chapter in the history of cross-Straits relations.

習(xí)馬會(huì)

兩岸領(lǐng)導(dǎo)人習(xí)近平、馬英九于2015年11月7日在新加坡會(huì)面，就進(jìn)一步推進(jìn)兩岸關(guān)系和平發(fā)展交換意見(jiàn)。這是1949年以來(lái)兩岸領(lǐng)導(dǎo)人的首次會(huì)面。雙方在會(huì)面時(shí)就推進(jìn)兩岸關(guān)系和平發(fā)展達(dá)成積極共識(shí)：肯定2008年以來(lái)兩岸關(guān)系和平發(fā)展取得的重要成果。認(rèn)為應(yīng)該繼續(xù)堅(jiān)持"九二共識(shí)"，鞏固共同政治基礎(chǔ)，推動(dòng)兩岸關(guān)系和平發(fā)展，維護(hù)臺(tái)海和平穩(wěn)定，加強(qiáng)溝通對(duì)話，擴(kuò)大兩岸交流，深化彼此合作，實(shí)現(xiàn)互利共贏，造福兩岸民眾。此次會(huì)面，翻開(kāi)了兩岸關(guān)系歷史性的一頁(yè)。
