According to source from Sichuan Tourism Bureau, Southern China's first state-level Ice Festival is to be held in Dayi, one of small counties of Chengdu on January 6th, 2001.
In order to respond "2001-China Sport Gymnastics Journey" presented by the State Tourism Bureau, Sichuan people's government decided to hold this festival.
"To host Ice Festival, Sichuan largely aimed at publicizing and setting up winter's tourism brand of Sichuan", said insiders.
To embrace the coming of Ice Festival, skiing yard of Xiling snow mount in Dayi County, main meeting site of the festival, has made the good preparation.
