Beijing Seizes Fake Invoice Case

Beijing police broke up a serious forgery operation recently, where value-added tax invoices were being forged, the spokesman of the Beijing Public Security Bureau told a press conference Tuesday.

As a result of the effort made by police the state will avoid millions in taxation losses the spokesman said.

There were 15 suspects, including the leader, Lin Jinhe from south China's Guangdong province, who have been taken into custody by the police.

Lin and his cohorts were suspected of forging some 500 invoice books and 110 fake cachets, illegally earning more than 40 million yuan (some US$4.8 million).
