Judicial Workers to Get Higher Wages

An official with the Ministry of Justice recently revealed that China is going to consider formulating and implementing a policy to raise the wages for judicial officials to a level higher than that for common civil servants. This aims to create conditions to promote their cleanness, ensure maintenance of the judges' good moral character and safeguard judicial justice.

The official pointed to the need to speed up reform of the judicial education system and institute a rational mechanism by which to bring up groups of judges and maintain their high qualities.

He stressed that China's judicial reform will be carried out in three stages: first, to unify qualification exam system; second, to set up a unified judicial research and studies system; and third, to establish, strengthen and perfect the system for maintaining the good qualities of judges and lawyers.
