The Zambia Investment Centre ( ZIC) has welcomed the establishment of the Chinese Centre for Investment Promotion and Trade (CCIPT) in Lusaka, saying it would act as a bridge between businessmen of the two countries.
The 2.4-million-US-dollar centre would help screen investors from China in order for Zambia to receive genuine investors, said ZIC outgoing Director General Margaret Mwanakatwe on Wednesday while touring the center.
She said the center, which is under construction, would bring in more Chinese investors to Zambia and help facilitate joint ventures between the two countries.
On his side, CCIPT general manager Ai Nanjin said "I hope to see more Zambian and Chinese businessmen go into joint ventures."
