Editor's Note: English publisher Bloomsbury launched a Harry Potter pop-up "train store" anchored by a full-scale Knight Bus replica in Beijing on July 19, spanning two themed floors, one being a House Zone below and a Hogwarts-style library. This installation turns publishing heritage into a public, family-friendly reading environment, or day out.
The purple Knight Bus (approx. 10m×2.7m×4m) features an exterior wrap and stained "windows" inspired by Jim Kay's illustrations. The House Zone displays incorporate artwork by Levi Pinfold, and upstairs, there's a library complete with the notorious "Restricted Section," beneath a night-sky ceiling and a white owl. A Magical Atlas with visuals by Peter Goesis also on display. On offer are more than 120 editions and over 3,000 volumes, alongside officially licensed Harry Potter books, memorabilia and merchandise.
