The Qingdao Municipal Tourism Bureau recently released a list of distinctive rural villages in Qingdao for 2013.

Five places were named distinctive rural villages, while 20 more places were named distinctive rural tourism spots.

To standardize the development of rural tourism in Qingdao, the Qingdao Municipal Tourism Bureau has launched a range of efforts to distinguish between rural villages and spots based on the provincial and municipal standards.

The Qingdao Municipal Inspection Commission and Qingdao Municipal Finance Bureau have formed an expert committee to assess applicants.
