Six people died when a platform hanging 20 meters above the ground gave way at a construction site in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region on Thursday, an official said.
The accident happened at 5 p.m. when the platform gave way and the seven workers fell in Wuchuan County in the regional capital Hohhot, the official said.
All the seven were sent to hospital. As of 11 p.m., six had died while the other, seriously injured, was still undergoing medical treatment, the official said.
An investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
