Taiwan's first newspaper specializing in reporting the mainland began publication in Taipei Tuesday.
The daily Taiwan-wide newspaper, called Wangbao in Chinese, is to cover the mainland's financial, educational and cultural news. It would also observe the policies and developments of the mainland.
The newspaper's editor-in-chief said they hope readers could better understand the mainland from reading the news as the mainland is having an increasing impact on Taiwan.
It would also cooperate with major news organizations on the mainland, including the Xinhua News Agency.
