The families of each victim will receive 200,000 yuan, or about 28,000 US dollars, from the government of Tibet Autonomous Region.

All of those injured in the riot will be eligible for free medical treatment should they need it.

The local government has also taken measures to help people repair their homes and shops damaged in the unrest.
