A bullet train from Beijing to Shanghai resumed operation after a power failure for more than one hour, the Shanghai railway authorities said on June 10, 2011.

The Shanghai-bound G151 train broke down at about 6:10 p.m. in east China's Shandong Province. It departed again at about 7:37 p.m. after rush repair.

An initial investigation found that thunderstorms and gales in Shandong caused a glitch to the power supply network between Qufu and Zaozhuang at 6:10 p.m. on Sunday.

A?total of 19 trains on the railway line would arrive later than scheduled.

Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway was put into operation on June 30. The 1,318-km-long high-speed rail line cuts travel time between the two metropolises to about five hours.
