Sun Yat-sen's mausoleum to open?for free

The mausoleum of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, founding father of the Chinese Kuomintang Party and a forerunner of China's anti-feudalism revolution, will open for free starting in November to draw more visitors, authorities in Nanjing, capital of the eastern Jiangsu Province, have decided.

A visit to the mausoleum in Nanjing now costs 80 yuan (12 U.S. dollars).

Nanjing authorities said free entry would begin on Nov. 12, the day marking Dr. Sun's birth.

The mausoleum on average receives 5 million visitors a year.
