Fourteen people are missing after their houses collapsed in torrential rains that hit southwest China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Tuesday morning, local authorities said.

Heavy rainfalls in Shatou Town, Cangwu County, Wuzhou City caused 19 houses to collapse. Rescuers are searching for the missing ones.

On Monday, Torrential rains pelted Guangxi, provinces of Guangdong, Fujian, Hunan and Jiangxi. Some regions even saw rainstorms, according to the State Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters (SFDH) which has already sent working teams to help flood control in those regions.

In the eastern province of Fujian, at least 24 people are still missing after flash floods and landslides triggered by heavy rains engulfed two vehicles Monday.
