Chinese stocks dropped at midday Thursday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 1.74 percent, or 43.61 points, to end the morning session at 2,469.36.
The Shenzhen Component Index lost 1.9 percent, or 209.28 points, to 10,782.57.
