U.S. stocks ended lower on Thursday as the weak performance in Financials pressured on the market, erasing gains in the morning session.

The blue-chip Dow lost about 1 percent at the close. The broader S&P 500 fell nearly 1.2 percent and the tech-heavy Nasdaq declined about 1.3 percent.
