China's stocks closed higher in the morning trade session Friday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index gaining 1.65 percent to finish 47.62 points higher at 2,927.25.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed at 12,700.23, up 192.52 points, or 1.54 percent at midday.
