Chinese equities markets opened lower Wednesday, tracking Wall Street's losses overnight.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index lost 12.36 points, or 0.477 percent, to open at 2,576.34.

The Shenzhen Component Index dropped 63.09 points, or 0.61 percent, to open at 10,282.46.
