Hong Kong and south China's Guangdong Province reached a framework agreement Wednesday to secure closer economic cooperation.

Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping attended the ceremony held by Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) and Guangdong governments in Beijing.
