2. How do yuanxiao taste?

Yuanxiao are traditionally made from glutinous rice flour with such fillings as rose petals, sesame, bean paste, jujube paste, walnuts, dried fruit, and sugar. Today, some people also fill them with chocolate or fruits. Alternatively, you can fill them with your favorite ingredients. Tangyuan can be boiled, fried or steamed; most taste sweet, but some have a salty flavor.
