Biography

Linn Ullmann is an award-winning writer, journalist and columnist, born in Norway and a graduate of New York University. She has written four critically acclaimed novels, published throughout Europe and the USA: Before your Sleep (1998), Stella Descending (2001), Grace (2002) and A Blessed Child (2005) "A Blessed Child" was shortlisted for the Norwegian literary prize Brageprisen, named best translated novel in the British newspaper The Independent, and longlisted for the Independent Foreign Fiction Prize and the International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award in the UK. The novel "Grace" was adapted for the stage in 2007 and had a successful run at the Norwegian national theatre Riksteateret. Linn Ullmann is co-founder (2009) and former Artistic Director of the international artist residency foundation The Bergman Estate on F?r?.
