The National Stadium, known as the Bird's Nest, will launch its 15th Happy Ice and Snow Season on Dec. 27, offering residents and tourists a rich winter sports experience through February 2026, according to a press conference Thursday.
Ticket pre-sales for the event have already exceeded 400,000. This year's festival features an all-inclusive ticket policy and family packages, granting visitors access to all attractions without extra fees.
The event is divided into two core areas: a snow play zone in the outdoor field and a leisure zone inside the main stadium. Activities range from snow drifting and sledding to bumper cars on ice and large-scale inflatable parks.
The organizers have also integrated digital technologies to create immersive experiences and added family-friendly services, including dining areas and medical stations.
As a signature post-Olympic public fitness event, the festival has been held 14 times, drawing more than 2.53 million visitors over the years.
The National Stadium continues to serve as a major hub for sports and culture. In 2025, the stadium hosted 56 major events, drawing 3 million spectators and generating over 13.7 billion yuan ($1.89 billion) in consumer spending. Total visitor traffic for the year exceeded 5 million.
According to venue operators, the stadium's schedule for 2026 is already fully booked.
